Judberd Gibault joint is designed specifically for the plain end of PVC pipe and HDPE pipe. For other pipes, we normally call them coupling which is used to connect pipe plain ends .Compared to the universal coupling, the gibault joint is designed specifically for the outer diameter of one pipe, so its dimension fits the outer diameter of the pipe accurately, making tightening very quick and easy. The sealing performance is very good. The gibault joint can withstand higher pressures than a Wide Range Coupling of the same size.
The gibault joint is also much cheaper than a wide range coupling of the same size because it is designed for one type of pipe, the rubber ring is lighter and the design of the gland and middle sleeve is simpler. Also for HDPE pipes, if the customer does not want a brass grip ring, a long Gibault joint can be designed for the connection. The cost is lower and the connection is quicker than restrained coupling for HDPE pipe.

If you just want to connect the two spigot ends of PVC pipes, the gibault joint is the best choice, both in terms of performance and price, gibault joints have a great advantage over pipe couplings. But Pipe Couplings also has its own great advantages according to different designs ,for example Maxifit Coupling can be connected to many different pipes to reduce stock if different pipes are popular, Mechanical Joint Coupling has a locking function, Step Coupling can transit between different pipes. So the customer has to choose according to his needs.
