Restrained Coupling Adaptor for HDPE Pipe Sr No. JC008 Installation Instruction
Precautions
Please read the following precautions carefully before installing the adaptor, and make sure to comply with the following requirements in order to ensure a smooth and successful installation.
Before installation, carefully inspect each part to ensure that each part is intact and not missing. Especially pay attention to the quality of the key parts, the sealing rubber ring and the grip ring, to be in perfect condition, and check whether the grip ring and the sealing rubber ring are firmly glued. Also check that the bolts and nuts fit together smoothly. judberd offers restrained coupling adapters with plastic caps to protect the threads of the bolts. If the plastic cap breaks, it is important to check the bolt to make sure that the threads of the bolt have not been damaged in any way.
Step 1
Select the appropriate size restrained coupling adaptor according to the outside diameter of the HDPE pipe to be connected.The Outside diameter of HDPE pipe is marked on our end rings of restrained coupling adaptor.The allowable tolerance of pipe OD is ±1mm.
Step 2
Measure the distance H (as below diagram)between the two end ring planes of the restrained coupling adaptor, and the distance L (as below diagram)between the end ring plane and the bottom surface of the sealing rubber ring, Clean the HDPE pipes inside and outside ,and mark the distance L+10mm line and H/2-10mm line from the end surface of the HDPE pipe on each of the two pipes to be connected.
Step 3
Chamfer the HDPE pipe end that you started measuring in STEP 2 with a professional chamfering tool and put PIPE STIFFENERS inside the HDPE pipe to prevent the HDPE pipe from deforming.

Step 4
Disassemble the bolts of restrained coupling adaptor ,Let the pipes go through the end ring, grip ring and sealing rubber ring with the bevel ends ahead，let the HDPE pipe goes into the middle sleeve(as below diagram No.1)，assemble the restrained coupling adaptor with bolts, nuts and washers，adjust the position of the two lines which were marked as above step 2，L+10mm line should be inside the end ring plane(as below diagram No.2),H/2-10mm line should be outside the end ring plane(as below diagram No.2).

Step 5
Tighten the bolts of the restrained coupling adaptor in diagonal order with a torque wrench several times with even force, not too much force at once, until the torque value reaches 45 Nm.
Step 6
Slowly add pressure to observe the sealing of the restrained coupling adaptor , stop pressure if there have leakage, repeat step 5 until the torque to be 55 Nm and slowly add the pressure to test. If the torque reaches 55 Nm , sealing still fail , please check carefully according to the above REQUIREMENT AND INSTALLATION STEP to find where’s the discrepancy.
